Meet Nick V.
by Steve Brose

Nick is an Engineering Technician in Developmental Engineering. In addition, he is our Computer Network Systems Administrator.  He wears many hats in the various technology areas of Indepak.  He also spends time writing programming code for custom applications including the logic controllers in our machinery.

Nick started working at Indepak in October of 1993 as a temporary employee and started working full-time in January, 1994.   His background in electronics helped him adapt to opportunities that included being part of a team that builds our custom thermoforming equipment.

He was born in Spokane, Washington and has lived in Vancouver for the past 14 years.   His specialty in the Navy was marine electronics, and he travelled to places such as England, Wales, Tahiti, Canada, and Alaska.  Nick likes to camp with his wife along the Columbia River and enjoys computers and programming.

Nick enjoys the challenges of his job and feels they are a good match for his talents.   He especially enjoys the freedom in his position as he works with employees in every area of the company.  He is going to college in the evenings and working toward a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science.  Nick has a perfect 4.0 Grade Point Average.

Co-worker Comments:

"He is invaluable to us when a machine breaks down.  He seems to be able to find and fix the problem quickly."

"He is a good team player and cares about people a lot.  We rely on him for ideas when we are building or modifying a machine."

Nick, thank you for letting us spotlight you this month.  We appreciate your abilities and how you use them to help your co-workers.
