Meet Lani O.
by Steve Brose

Lani answered a help wanted ad in a local paper in July of 1996 and started working at Indepak as our receptionist.  Over the course of the last 5 years, she has accepted additional secretarial responsibilities.  Her job here has become important to the daily coordination of activities.  Lani is the first voice our customers and vendors hear when they call and her greeting creates an important first impression.  When not busy with the phones, she helps with purchasing, accounting, and record-keeping duties.  Lani truly "watches out" for all of us here and keeps us in line when we need to be.

Lani was born in Denver, Colorado and moved to Eugene, Oregon when she was 4 years old.  She moved to Portland in 1980.  In 1984, she was married and purchased a home in Gresham where she lives today with her family.

Lani enjoys fishing, camping, arts and crafts, and cooking.  She exchanges recipe's with employees and brings samples of food including wonderful fresh smoked fish to share with us.  During the 3rd week in August, she goes on an annual fishing and camping trip to the mouth of the Deschutes River with 6 other couples.

She says "her job and the people here are great" and that "Dave and Jan Aho are great owners and employers".

Co-worker comments:
"I appreciate how she takes care of us at work.  She is mature and professional.  Lani also has a great sense of humor and is easy to talk to."

"She can handle anything that comes along."

"She's like the clock of the company.  Without the clock, things wouldn't get done effectively. "

Lani, thanks for letting us feature you this month.  We rely on you to help coordinate our daily activities and phone calls.  We appreciate you !
