Carlos M.Meet Carlos M.
by: Steve Brose

Carlos started working at Indepak as a temporary employee in 1999.  He was a thermoforming machine operator until he was hired in August of that year as a materials expediter in our Thermoforming Department.  His job involves moving plastic, packaging materials, and finished goods between the manufacturing area and warehouse.  He is also responsible for loading plastic rolls on the machines and removing scrap.  Carlos says he likes the variety of his job, but recognizes that it is hard work.  He also likes helping others by lifting heavy items and helping with other duties when he can.  He has a true servants attitude and strong work ethic.

Carlos was born in Sinaloa, Mexico.  He grew up and attended college there.  He came to the U.S. in 1984 and lived and worked in California.  He moved to Medford, Oregon in 1986 where he worked for 11 years for the Reter Fruit Company as a supervisor.  In 1998, he moved to Portland, Oregon which is where he made the connection with Indepak.

He has a son who works in sales at a local Ford dealer and a 16 year old daughter.  He also has a 4 month old grandson.  Carlos has a strong interest in playing pool, likes older U.S. rock music and also native Mexican tunes.  He has a special interest in counseling young people, including his own kids, helping them to understand how to stay out of trouble, stay off the streets, and be good citizens.

Carlos wants to say a special thank you to his co-workers for helping him with his job at Indepak.  He says, "thank you everybody."

Co-worker comments:
"Carlos is one of the hardest working employees we have here at Indepak.   He always has a good attitude and a smile on his face.  He is a great team player and works well with all his co-workers.  The production floor runs smoothly because of the good job he does each and every day."

"He works very hard, is a pleasure to work with, has a good sense of humor and cares about doing a good job!"

"He is someone you can depend on to be helpful.  If there is something heavy to lift or something to move, he is right there helping us."

Thanks for letting us feature you this month Carlos.  We appreciate your hard work and the job you do as part of our Indepak team!
