Meet Wayne B.
by Steve Brose
Wayne began his employment at Indepak as a temporary service employee in May of 1987. He was hired as a regular employee in December of the same year in our Thermoforming Department. His early duties included being a machine operator and then a materials expediter. He also helped part time in our shipping and receiving area and has been there ever since. Wayne's official title is a Shipping and Receiving Coordinator. He has worked in that role with co-worker Don for over 15 years.
Wayne says that Indepak is the best company he has ever worked for. He feels that the owners care about you and employees have a lot of freedom and are friendly. He is a member of the safety committee and attends bible studies.
Wayne was born in Corpus Christi, Texas. He lived in Roswell, N.M. until age 6 and then moved to Southern Oregon. He moved to Portland when he was 16 where his dad had a job. Wayne spent a year in college in Texas where he played basketball and then finished here at Cascade College. He is interested in sports, especially high school and college volleyball and basketball. He is a singer on the worship team at his church. Wayne was married in 1972 to Becky and they have a son, Matt who is 25 and a daughter, Anamie who is 23.
Co-worker comments:
"I like Wayne. He's always happy and I look forward to seeing
him. I never hear him say anything bad."
"He's awesome! Wayne is dedicated to meeting our customers needs and willing to do anything, even coming in on a weekend to load a truck!"
"As a co-worker, we often joke that we spend more time together than we do with our spouses. Wayne is always happy and sings all day long. He has a great sense of humor."
Thanks for letting us feature you this month Wayne. Shipping and Receiving is a vital part of Indepak, and you are an important member of our team.
