The Design & Development Process
During the initial phase of your project, we learn all we can about your product, and when it comes to any type of electronics, we immediately begin thinking of ways to protect your items from static.
ESD packaging is essential for electronics, and we work with a variety of materials, from dissipative to conductive. We can find the ideal design for your packaging, as well as the ideal thermoplastic materials for that packaging.
Of course, we also are concentrating on aspects such as space, weight, presentation and cost-containment to provide you with the best possible design at the most affordable price.
With our in-house tooling shop, we can create prototypes as well as production parts at a much more reasonable cost than many other thermoforming companies, and we have complete quality control during every part of the design and production process.
The Production Process
Once the design and prototype have been approved, we can move on to the production process. Our facility includes multiple lines of high-speed thermoforming equipment, allowing us to meet the needs of wide range of clients, including those in the electronics industry.
We can provide you with thin-gauge electronic packaging with rigid materials ranging from .008” to .080” inch in thickness or foam materials from about 1/16” to ¼” inches. We can process many different thermoform plastics including ABS, HDPE, HIPS, OPS, PET, PETG, PP, PVC and starch-based biomaterials.
Types Of Packaging
At Indepak, we are experts in the production of just about any type of packaging you might need. We can provide you with ESD trays that include multiple cavities. If you need anti-static trays or conductive trays, we are equal to the task and we can create trays with multiple cavities, either all the same shape or many different shapes.
If you need custom clamshells, we can design and produce those as well. With Indepak, you never have to worry about particulate contamination, and our custom designs take into consideration the unique requirements of electronic component storage. For example, you might need to provide clearance for a component to ensure that some portions of the component do not come into contact with the clamshell cavity or tray.
For many electronics manufacturers, anti-static foam inserts are needed as part of your electronics packaging. Foam can absorb impact and vibrations, as well as protecting your components from static. At Indepak, we’ve developed a proprietary high-speed process for forming and die cutting foam in-line, so let us know if you need custom foam for your products.
When it comes to electronic packaging, protecting your delicate and often expensive components is crucial, but that doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice sustainability. Virtually all of the materials we use at Indepak are recyclable, so consumers can simply place packaging into a recycling bin once they are finished with it.
