Since 1942, the Buck 119 Special has become one of the popular knives among hunters and outdoor adventurers worldwide. Indepak was tasked with helping to create a package worthy of this iconic product.
The Challenge
Clearly exhibit this iconic knife's features like its 6 inch clip point blade made from heat treated 420HC steel, its classic aluminum guard, and the hand-shaped phenolic handle with aluminum pommel. Do this while also including its genuine black leather sheath with snap closure and belt loop strap.
The Solution
Indepak's design team worked with the team at Buck Knives to create a clear plastic, "hangable" package to replace its existing cardboard box package. The new trapped blister package features a custom fit blister contoured to the exact shop of this classic knife along with a large cavity on the back and a reinforced eyelet for hanging.
The Result
The eye-catching new package allowed retailers the flexibilty to move the knife out of glass cases and onto hanging displays or slatwalls to provide significantly more merchandising options.
