Known throughout the world for their innovative rotary shaving technology, Phillips has grown to be a dominating player in the men's grooming market.
The Challenge
The team at Indepak was approached to design a two-part thermoformed plastic package that could serve to hold, protect and display Phillips' innovative razor through an outer package. The material needed to be sturdy, yet light weight, recyclable and easy to cut with a pair of scissors. Most importantly, shoppers needed to be able to see the actual razor - including its unique "floating head."
The Solution
Indepak's design team started by thermoforming a blue tray in which the razor could be nested. This tray was designed to fit into a larger cardboard box that featured a die cut hole which accommodated the tray, holding it securely in place. The team then created a clear plastic cover to snap over the tray, holding the razor in place while clearly displaying the razor.
The Result
The resulting package was another example of Indepak's ability to develop and manufacture innovative solutions to meet the needs of the world's most innovative companies.
